Irine Jandieri

Irine Jandieri People’s Artist of Georgia

 
Born on November 10, 1940, Tbilisi. Graduated from Vakhtang Chabukiani Ballet Art State School (under the supervising of A. Tsereteli).
 
During 1959-1990 was the leading soloist at Tbilisi Z.Paliashvili Opera and Ballet Proffesional State Theatre ballet company.
 
Repertoire:

Odette-Odile (Swan Lake), Chelita, Queen of Dryads (Don Quixote), Myrthe (Giselle), Gamzatti (La Bayadere), Irema (Gorda), Marie (Nutcracker), Princess Florina, Aurora (The Sleeping Beauty), Laurencia (Laurencia), Svanilda (Coppelia), solo parts in ballets: Serenade, Theme and Variations (choreography by George Balanchine), Chopiniana, Paquita.
 
In 1968 was awarded the First Class Diploma at Classical Ballet Artists’ Contest (former Soviet Union) and the 3rd Prize at the First International Ballet Contest in Moscow in 1969.
 
In 1976 was awarded the title of the National Artist of Georgia.
 
Since 1991, she has been a Coaching Ballet Mistress of the ballet company at Tbilisi Z.Paliashvili Opera and Ballet State Theatre.
