The public will bid Tsisana Tatishvili a farewell at the Tbilisi Opera and Ballet State Theatre.

On September 26, the legendary soprano Tsisana Tatishvili will be buried in the Didube Pantheon of writers and public figures.  

The public will bid her a farewell at the Tbilisi Opera and Ballet State Theatre.

The singer has been a soloist of the Tbilisi Opera and Ballet State Theatre for 38 years. At the same time she successfully appeared on the prestigious stages of the former Soviet Union and Europe, where she performed the title roles in Georgian, Italian, German and Russian operas. Tsisana Tatishvili is the unique Georgian singer who created a precedent in the history of Georgian operatic art – her performance of Salome by Richard Strauss has not been repeated by anybody as yet.

The Georgian soprano is the holder of all top state prizes of Georgia and those of the former Soviet Union. Besides, she is the holder of Albert Schweitzer Order of Honour and Gold Medal.
