Lado Atanelli’s Star - Press Conference

On July 4, at 13:00, a press conference was held in the Mirror Hall of Tbilisi Opera House dedicated to unveiling the star of Lado Atanelli. The press conference was attended by Badri Maisuradze, Artistic Director of the Opera Theatre, Iano Alibegashvili and Lado Ataneli.
The evening of a Georgian Baritone  - Lado Ataneli will be held in the Tbilisi Zakaria Paliashvili Opera and Ballet Theater on July 7, at 19:00, followed by the ceremony of unveiling Lado Ataneli’s Star.
Scenes from operas La forza del destino (Giuseppe Verdi) and Tosca (Giacomo Puccini) will be performed on that evening.
The partners of Lado Ataneli will be Iano Alibegashvili and Badri Maisuradze, as wellas Armaz Darashvili, Soloist of the Tbilisi Opera Theater, the winner of Lado Ataneli competition, Yuri Aslanishvili, Opera Chorus Actor and Giorgi Chelidze, Intern. The Chorus and Orchestra of the Tbilisi State Opera House will also take part in the performance under the baton of Maestro Zaza Azmaiparashvili.
From the stage partnership of Lado Atanelli and Badri Maisuradze at the world opera houses we should note especially Aida at the Deutsche Oper Berlin, La forza del destino at the Opera House in Budapest, Un ballo in maschera at the Liceu Opera Barcelona., Iano Alibegashvili and Lado Ataneli have performed jointly in Un ballo in maschera  in Tbilisi, Hamburg and Vienna opera houses and in Macbeth in Deutsche Oper Berlin and Budapest Opera Theater.
Lado Ataneli debuted as Renato in Verdi’s Un ballo in maschera at the Tbilisi Opera and Ballet Theater in 1989. Lado Ataneli is the winner of the First Prize and the Grand Prix at the International Francisco-Vinas Competition, the "I Cestelli" vocal competition and the Belvedere Competition. Since 1996, the singer has appeared with great success at the world's biggest opera stages - New York, London, Paris, Berlin, Vienna, Milan, Zurich, Geneva, Munich, Washington, Tokyo. The Baritone is recognized as the best performer of the operas by Verdi, Puccini, Giordano, Leoncavallo, Mascagni and Massenet. His repertoire consists of about 40 opera parties, including: Scarpia, Gerard, Tonio, Iago, Macbeth, Nabucco, Rigoletto, Barnaba and others.
In 2003, EMI Classics recorded Ponchielli’s opera La Gioconda, where Lado Ataneli performed the most complicated role of Barnaba with Placido Domingo. His first solo CD “Opera Arias” appeared in 2005 followed by the second operatic recital “Baritone Arias”, released in December 2009. Verdi’s Otello, Massenet’s Thaïs, Tchaikovsky's Pique Dame are released on DVD.  In 2009 Lado Ataneli founded the Tanadgoma Charity Foundation to support young talented vocalists and pave the way for their international career. Since 2010, Lado Ataneli Vocal Competition is held annually. In 2011 Lado Ataneli was awarded with Shota Rustaveli State Prize and a gold medal.
