Nina Ananiashvili was awarded with the highest award for special merit in the development of Georgian culture


On 10th March, Mikhail Giorgadze, Minister of Culture and Monument Protection of Georgia, awarded Nina Ananiashvili , Artistic Director of Ballet Company of Opera and Ballet Theatre, with the highest award of the Ministry of Culture and Monument Protection of Georgia for special merit in the development of Georgian culture.

Ballet Gala-Concert was conducted with the participation of Nina Ananiashvili and was dedicated to 35th anniversary of her career on stage.  Leading Soloists of Moscow Bolshoi Theatre, Alexander Volchkov and dancers of State Ballet of Georgia participated in Gala Concert.

State Ballet of Georgia performed the third act of Sleeping Beauty by P.Tchaikovsky,  Grand Pas from Don Quixote by L.Minkus, and one-act ballet  Serenade by George Balanchine.

At the end of the evening, the ballet company sprang a surprise and congratulated to Prima Ballerina 35th anniversary of her career on stage.

After the Gala Concert, State Ballet of Georgia went on tour in Japan. This is their fourth tour (2007, 2010, 2012) in the country of rising sun.
