The European Opera Days start today

Today, at 12:00, a press conference dedicated to the European Opera Days was held in the Red Hall of the Georgian State Opera House.
The press conference was attended by Davit Kintsurashvili, Artistic Director of the Georgian Opera and Ballet Theatre, Nino Ananiashvili, Artistic Director of the National Ballet Ensemble of Georgia, Rusudan Matsaberidze, Head of the International Relations Department of the Tbilisi National Opera and Ballet Theater (Project Leader), Carlo Natale, Deputy Head of the European Union Delegation to Georgia, and Manana Berikashvili, Deputy Minister of Culture and Monument Protection of Georgia.
For three days, on May 6 to 8, the Georgian State Opera House as a member of Opera Europa celebrates the European Opera Days together with other leading opera houses from 40 European countries.
This year sees the 10th edition of the European Opera Days, for celebration of which a particular theme was chosen: Theatre of the World. The strength of music is in its ability talk beyond language barriers, beyond national borders and beyond cultural differences. 
The festive events have started today, on May 6, in the Georgian Opera House. An exposition “Georgia - opera - Europe" was opened and a Costumized Performance was held in front of the Opera House.
The exposition and the costumized concert will continue on May 7, the same day the concert of Children's Chorus "Opera for All" will be held.
On May 8, in the daytime, the audience can see again the children's Chorus participating in the concert organized by the European Union within the public celebration of Europe Day in Rike Park.
And in the evening, at 20:00, the opera lovers will have an opportunity to watch Joint Gala Concert of the European Union Delegation to Georgia and the Georgian State Opera that will be broadcast on a screen in front of the theater.
The Georgia State Opera Orchestra, chorus and soloists: Khatuna Chokhonelidze, Marika Machitidze, Kakhaber Tetvadze, Irene Ratiani, Otar Jorjikia, Tea Demurishvili, Nikoloz Lagvilava will participate in the Gala Concert. Conductor - David Kintsurashvili. The Georgian and EU national anthems will open the evening and fragments from the operas of Paliashvili, Lagidze, Mozart, Verdi, Gounod, Wagner, Puccini, Cilea and Giordano will be performed.
