Ottavio ZIINO International Opera Competition: A springboard


In Rome for 18 years the International Opera Competition Ottavio Ziino C.L.I.O.Z. offers the possibility to young opera singers to present themselves before a competent and selected jury that allows them to be seen internationally. This year the prestigious jury is made up of 14 Artistic Directors among the most important International Opera Theaters such as the Teatro Real in Madrid, the Staatsoper in Vienna, the Savolinna Festival, the Theater of Bregenz, the Theater of Toronto, and the Artistic Directors of the Royal Opera House in Muscat (Oman), Tbilisi Opera and Ballet State Theatre, the Karlsruhe Theater in Germany, the Lyone Opera in France, the Chants International Festival in Beirut, and the Italian theater team S. Carlo of Naples, Del Valle Festival of Itria, and composer Marco Tutino.

Another strong point is the Presidency of the 2019 Competition assigned to the great Orchestra Director Donato Renzetti.


The preselections will take place starting October 4 in the city of Paris, and then continue to Madrid on the 5th, in Vienna on the 7th.
In Tbilisi State Opera on October 12th, ending in Rome and Milan on 18/19 and 20 October.

From 15 to 17 November 2019 Rome will also be the Capital of the Opera, giving young lyric singers the opportunity to present themselves and win scholarships that will allow them to pursue their musical studies, and prizes in opera roles and concerts, offered by the artistic directors who will be part of the Commission.

The final in the form of a Gala Concert will be on 17 November 2019 at 18.00 in the presence of the public; in addition to the Prizes in scholarships and the roles of work, will be awarded the Audience Award present in the room, and the Critics Award which will be awarded by a special jury formed by directors of music magazines and music critics.
