Success of the Young Georgian singers

Giorgi Chelidze (bass), Nutsa Zakaidze (mezzo soprano), Irina Sherazadashvili (soprano), Mariam Roinishvili (soprano) and Natia Azarashvili (pianist) together with their foreign colleagues took part in the Gala-concert appearing in front of the audience on June 27 in ‘Apollo-Sael” of the Berlin Staatsoper Unter den Linden, within the framework the Tbilisi Opera and Ballet State Theater project - Young Artists Programme.

Giorgi Mchedlishvili and Giorgi Chelidze, two Georgian participants of the Young Artists Programme will cooperate with the Youth Opera Studio of the Berlin State Opera (Staatsoper Unter den Linden).

Ketevan Gvenetadze, the cultural attaché of the Embassy of Georgia in the Federal Republic of Germany, made a welcoming speech at the event. According to her, the year 2017-2018 is declared as a year of Georgian-German relations, and so the joint initiative of the Tbilisi Opera and Ballet State Theater and Berlin’s Staatsoper Unter den Linden which not only contributes to the career development of young singers, but also promotes the deepening of cultural relations between the two countries, is very important.

The exchange programme with Berlin’s Staatsoper Unter den Linden is implemented within the framework the Tbilisi Opera and Ballet State Theatre project - Young Artists Programme. The first Gala Concert was held in the Tbilisi Opera House on November 2, 2017. Badri Maisuradze and Deborah Polaski hosted master classes in Tbilisi and Berlin respectively.
