This piece is choreographed from Mudang Chun (shaman dance) that were performed by shamans called Mu-dang. Mudang Chum that Mudang boasts power herself by amusing gods shows the most traditional element among Korean ritual dance. Dance with traditional fan and bell which look like tempt gods shows both feelings of softness and fanatic. Mu-dang is changeable and irregular in that not only she shows authority and majesty as a person having divinity but she also shows naughty dance. This piece adds more contemporary elements to Mudang Chum and organizes with group structure to make an enormous atmosphere of energetic, fashionable, and mingling with audiences by calling gods on the stage.

Bow
Contemporary
Choreography by Misook JEON
Dancers : Yunju LEE, Soeon PARK, Heewon JEON, Minseon CHOI,
Soulyun PARK, Jisoo LEE, Hyeonggyu CHOI

Is bowing merely a gesture of welcome or is there a deeper meaning behind it? The Korean choreography Bow centers on a widespread gesture in Eastern culture, an act full of beauty showing politeness and respect. Bowing is also a reflection of hierarchy, as its angle depends on one's social position. In a performance of deconstruction, the dancers repeat the ritual ad nauseam, turning it into an onerous burden and thus questioning its reason for being – an outrageous thing to do in East Asia.

Gak-si
Contemporary Korean

Choreography by Bokyung JUNG
Dancers : Mira RYU, Hyoin YUN, Eunyi KIM, Hayoon YI, Jaewon CHOI, Juryeon BANG

This work is a motif that started with the appearance of Gaksital(Bridal Mask).

The thin, long eyes and the tails hanging down as if they were wrapped around show the appearance of women at the time when the expression of their feelings could not be freely expressed. In other words, forced silence and unnatural shyness caused by socialrestrictions. The choreographer created on the theme of women's life by dividing images of the symbolic meanings embodied in Gaksital.

Contemporary

Sometimes, no comment gives even more truly answer for real. Like, calm pulse is rocking through the blood in the body and the truth is also struggle for reality. The minimals are simple in the logical moving and complicatedly, attaches a decoration in original format and escapes, this is pure meaningless or all meaning which are the possibility of seeking from the place where is abstractive moving and is visible from the intention of origin.

Artistic Director  Misook Jeon
