Gia Asatiani Gia Asatiani graduated from the Tbilisi V. Sarajishvili State Conservatoire in 1984 and became a soloist of the Tbilisi Z. Paliashvili Opera and Ballet State Theatre. In 1989 he performed Pimen in Modest Mussorgsky’s Boris Godunov in San Diego.

In 1990, in Moscow, Gia Asatiani won the selective competition for the internship in La Scala Academy. In 1992-93 he was an intern at the Accademia di Arte Lirica e Vocale di Osimo (Italy). The singer is a laureate of the Vano Sarajishvili (Tbilisi), and Feodor Chaliapin (Kazan) singing competitions, as well as of the International Competition Le Voci Verdiane in Busseto, Italy.

Together with the Kazan Opera Company he toured in Holland, France, England, ect. In 2001, Ljubljana, Gia Asatiani sang Varlaam in Musorgsky’s Boris Godunov.

The singer’s repertoire includes Verdi’s operas: Aida (Ramfis), Rigoletto (Sparafucile) and Don Carlo (Philipp II), as well as Gioachino Rossini’s Il Barbiere di Siviglia (Don Basilio), Pyotr Tchaikovsky’s Eugene Onegin (Prince Gremin), etc.
