Armaz Darashvili In 2005 Armaz Darashvili graduated from Tbilisi State Conservatoire Bachelor’s Degree under Prof. Lamara Goglichidze and in 2007 Master’s Degree under Prof. Nodar Andguladze. During his student years he participated in numerous vocal music concerts. In 2005 the singer received Paata Burchuladze Scholarship. In 2005-2007 he worked at Vaso Abashidze Music and Drama Theatre, where he performed Eduardo in Gioachino Rossini’s opera La cambiale di matrimonio. In 2006 Darashvili sang Malkhaz in Zakaria Paliashvili’s opera Daisi at Batumi Music Centre. In 2007 he won the First Prize in Baku at the Byulbyul International Vocalists Competition. The same year he participated in the Anniversary Concert of Byulbyul at The Kolobov Novaya Opera Theatre of Moscow. In 2008 Darashvili became a diploma-winner of Julián Gayarre International Singing Competition (Pamplona, Spain). In 2010 he became a winner of Lado Ataneli Vocal Competition.
Since 2008 Armaz Darashvili has been a soloist of the Tbilisi State Opera and Ballet Theatre, where he debuted as Malkhaz (Daisi). Later he performed Kote (Victor Dolidze’s Keto and Kote), Alfred (Verdi’s La Traviata), Abesalom (Paliashvili’s Abesalom and Eteri); tenor part in Verdi’s Requiem. In 2009 he participated in the International Festival Autumn Tbilisi (Mozart’s Coronation Mass).
In 2010-2011 Armaz Darashvili had numerous performances abroad both on the opera stages and at the festivals: Verdi Festival, Italy (Stiffelio); Bologna Opera Theatre; Reggio Emilia Opera Theatre (Richard Wagner's Tannhauser); Modena Opera Theatre (Luigi Dallapiccola's Il Prigioniero); Bologna Teatro Manzoni (Franz Liszt’s Stabat Mater dall’Oratorio Christus; Faust Symphony); Cagliari Teatro Lirico (Nino Rota’s Napoli Milionaria); Warsaw Grand Hall (Ottorino Respighi’s La Primavera).
In 2012 Armaz Darashvili appeared as Ismail (Verdi’s Nabucco), Pinkerton (Giacomo Puccini’s Madama Butterfly) at Tbilisi State Opera and Ballet Theatre. In 2013 he toured with Tbilisi Opera Theatre in Estonia (Saaremaa) where he performed the Duke of Mantua in Verdi’s Rigoletto. Later in Paris he sang in Rossini's Stabat Mater at the Cathedral Saint-Louis des Invalides. Since 2013 Darashvili has been a soloist of Batumi Music Centre, where he debuted as Turiddu in Mascagni’s Cavalleria Rusticana.
In 2014 he performed in Verdi’s Un ballo in Maschera and La Traviata at the Tbilisi State Opera and Ballet Theatre. Then, Armaz Darashvili appeared as Don Jose in Georges Bizet’s Carmen in Batumi Music Centre. In 2015 he sang Don Jose at Florence, Teatro Verdi and at the Tbilisi Opera Theatre.
