Created in 1998 as a co-production with EXPO ’98 and the Goethe-Institut Lisbon, Masurca Fogo was presented recently in Wuppertal in January 2026. For this revival, the staging and choreography have been newly rehearsed under the guidance of Azusa Seyama-Prioville, Rainer Behr and Robert Sturm. Daphnis Kokkinos, Nazareth Panadero and Aida Vainieri return to their original roles, while Silvia Farias Heredia, Julie Shanahan, Michael Strecker, Anna Wehsarg and fellow original cast members Dominique Mercy, Cristiana Morganti, Jorge Puerta Armenta and Fernando Suels Mendoza also contributed to transmitting the production.
